Sweetgrass Harvesting

Experience the beauty and tradition of sweetgrass harvesting with us. Our adventure begins early, aiming to reach the sweetgrass patch before the high sun. Here’s our plan for the day:
Leaving Peshawbestown at 6 a.m. • Leaving 3 mile at 7 a.m.
Morning Harvest: We'll gather sweetgrass together. For those who prefer, there is shaded seating available to watch the harvesters at work.
Lunch Break: After the harvest, we’ll head to a picnic area for a delicious lunch.
Return Home: Following lunch, we’ll drive back home, reminiscing about our wonderful day.
Please note: The walk to the patch is short and dry, though the patch itself may be a bit watery.
Snacks, lunch, and drinks will be provided for all participating elders. We hope you join us for this!
